About Chad

Chad Krahn

Meet Chad Krahn, a dedicated community builder and family man running for City Council in Red Deer, AB. As a husband and father of five, including two foster children, Chad understands the importance of creating a thriving and inclusive community for future generations.

Chad is deeply passionate about advocacy, evident in his roles as a Board Member for the Alberta Foster and Kinship Association, Director for the Highland Green Community Association, and former President of the Riverside Meadows Community Association. His commitment extends to volunteering with Red Deer Pond Hockey as a coach for Division 1, demonstrating his hands-on approach to community involvement.

A former Executive Director of Common Sense Red Deer, Chad made the decision to resign to pursue a seat on City Council. He has already been actively engaged in municipal affairs, providing weekly email updates on City Hall proceedings and diligently reading every Council agenda for the past two years. Chad contributes insightful local commentary to media outlets such as the Red Deer Advocate and TodayVille. 

Chad’s professional experience includes serving as the Constituency Manager for the local MLA, serving as a key advocate for local issues. Notably contributing to like the Red Deer Recovery Community and transition of Red Deer College to a Polytechnic. 

His comprehensive understanding of the community’s needs and key issues positions him to hit the ground running as your representative on City Council.

With a firm belief that Red Deer has the potential to become the most strategically important city in Western Canada, Chad is driven by a visionary outlook and a commitment to doing the next simple thing for our Memorable City.
